THE HATMANS

Harold & Tammy

Our Place:

“Há um lugar” is Portuguese for “There is a place”. There is a place in the Portuguese speaking nation of Brazil that is in great need of a local, New Testament Church. The southern most state of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, has deep roots in the occult and spiritism and is the most unreached area of the country with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Harold and Tammy Hatman, former residents of Harrisonville, MO, responded to the call of God on their life and were sent by Heartland Baptist Fellowship to this area of Brazil. Their work is based in the cities of Canoas and Nova Santa Rita, which are part of the 4th largest metropolitan area in the country, with over 4 million people.

Our Biography:

Harold and Tammy Hatman were approved by Heartland Baptist Fellowship (HBF) as missionaries to Brazil in October 2004. Harold completed his pastoral studies and training through the Kansas City Baptist Temple (KCBT), Shepherd School of Ministry and has a BA in Business Administration from Baker University.

In May of 2000, as an outreach ministry of the KCBT, Harold and Tammy started a Bible study in their home, in Harrisonville MO. God soon brought together a group of leaders who were part of seeing this Bible study become a local church plant in Harrisonville, Heartland Baptist Fellowship (HBF), which is their sending church.

Prior to moving to Brazil, Harold worked in various Human Resources management positions with Hallmark Cards, Inc and Wal-Mart Logistics. Tammy worked as a housewife, mother and held positions in local banks and land title services.

Harold and Tammy have two wonderful Children. Their daughter Ashley married Mathew Franklin on January 8, 2005. They are residing in Harrisonville and are very involved in the ministries of HBF. Their son Chase married Katie Lynn on October 18, 2008 and they too are residing in Harrisonville and are members of HBF.
